CHANDLER, AZ — Chandler police arrested a man wanted on a warrant in a homicide case after a pursuit overnight.
Eric Ray Williams, 39, was in a vehicle at Tumbleweek Park, near McQueen and Germann roads, when police first made contact with him overnight. Officers determined he had a probation violation warrant from a homicide conviction in the 1990s.
Williams refused to exit his vehicle, so officers called for SWAT team backup. At that point, he took off in the car, leading police on a pursuit that ended on the Gila River Indian Community.
Police say Williams, who was last contacted by Chandler police in 2018, was taken into custody. He is expected to be booked into jail for his original warrant and unlawful flight from law enforcement.
