Family members stop man who grabbed child in Chandler

Police are looking for the public’s help to find an individual who allegedly grabbed a child in Chandler.

Chandler police said on April 26, around 11:40 a.m., a man approached a child who was playing in a park near Arizona Avenue and Warner Road.

The suspect allegedly tried to hold the child’s hand. The child was able to pull away and stated “no.” 

According to police, the suspect grabbed the child’s wrist and started walking away with him before being stopped by a family member of the child. 

Police describe the suspect as being an Eastern Indian man with a medium build. He was wearing a red and white striped shirt, cream-colored shorts, white socks pulled up to his calf, and a red hat at the time of the incident. 

Chandler police do not believe a crime has been committed at this time, but they are hoping to find the individual to find out more information about the interaction.
