Chandler police searching for man who stole diamond worth $16K

Chandler police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man accused of stealing a diamond worth $16,000. 

Police report that on August 19 a man walked into the Ben Bridge jewelry store inside the Chandler Fashion Mall and inquired about buying a diamond. 

Store staff presented the man with a loose diamond for the suspect to inspect. 

Police say the man then grabbed the diamond and walked out of the store. 

The suspect reportedly ran out of the mall and entered a green or gray Jeep SUV. 

According to police, the diamond is 2.11 carats and is valued at $16,000. 

The suspect was last seen wearing a white pinstriped dress shirt with a multicolored bow tie and black dress pants. 

Police describe the man between 18 to 30 years of age, with an average build, and having an earring in his left ear.
