Chandler police investigating homicide near McClintock and Chandler Boulevard

CHANDLER — Chandler police are investigating a homicide that occurred early Sunday morning near McClintock Drive and Chandler Boulevard.

According to police, they responded to a home in the area around 3 a.m. after their dispatch center received calls for multiple shots fired at a residence with "scores of people fleeing from the home."

When officers arrived, they found a 26-year-old man, later identified as Alejandro Ramirez, lying in the backyard of the home with multiple gunshot wounds. The man died on scene from his injuries, police say.

Chandler police say there was a party at the residence when an argument broke out and "gunfire ensued resulting in the homicide."

Police say someone ecently met with officers at the Chandler Police Department, was questioned by detectives and released.

The case is being forwarded to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office for review.

Officials are not identifying the person who spoke with detectives.
