A family of five and their dog are lucky to be alive after their home went up in flames Friday night.
The blaze broke out around 7:30 p.m. at the family's home near the Loop 202 and the San Tan Freeway.
Fire crews say the fire started in the bathroom and quickly spread to the attic and roof.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
