Phoenix police have identified the driver who ran from the scene of a multiple vehicle accident on Monday.

Police say 30-year-old Joshua Aaron Hicks was the driver of the vehicle that fled from officers after a traffic stop causing a multiple vehicle accident, including an SRP truck, at 43rd Avenue and Interstate 10.

Air15 video shows Hicks running into a shed where he tried to hide from police following the accident.

Investigators were able to determine that Hicks had 15-pounds of drugs on him which may be why he ran from police.

Hicks is being booked on multiple charges including aggravated assault, failure to obey a police officer and hit and run.

A female passenger was also in the vehicle with Hicks but is not facing any charges.

Four Salt River Project employees injured in the crash remain hospitalized, and one is still in the Intensive Care Unit.

SRP said in a tweet Tuesday that the one employee in ICU is “responsive” and that the three others may be released soon.
