Maricopa County deputies are on the hunt for a vandal or group of vandals that are going around, bashing in windshields and slashing tires in the far West Valley.

So far, about a dozen incidents have been reported in the Cortessa and White Tank Foothills neighborhoods in Waddell near Citrus Road and Olive Avenue, just west of the Loop 303.

According to residents, the incidents happened early Monday morning.

"It's infuriating," explains Jeania Ambrose. "I feel violated."

The back windshield on Ambrose's Hyundai was smashed in, leaving shards of black glass all over the ground and on the interior of the vehicle.

"They were lucky me and my wife didn't catch them," explains Jeania's husband, Mark. "It would have been a different outcome."

Just across the street in Cortessa, Tony McKinnson is dealing with a mess of his own.

"It looks like someone took a bat to it or something," he explained.

But it wasn't just Tony McKinnon's windshield. All four of his tires were slashed. The suspects even hit up his son's car, parked right next to his in the driveway.

McKinnon says he hopes his HOA can step up patrols in his neighborhood. ABC15 reached out to management but we haven't heard back.

Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies say their detectives are on the case, but so far they have no leads. If you know anything or have surveillance video you can share, please call MCSO.
