A Valley art teacher received some much-needed supplies for her classroom thanks to a Netflix star, Instagram and the kindness of strangers.

West Wind Elementary School Art Teacher Emily Biesemeier, or "Ms. Beez" as the kids say, knows her chosen profession requires patience and a whole lot of paper.

"Paper goes so quick and like I love to give them big paper and once I'm out, I'm out," Biesemeier said.

With more than 200 kids coming through her door everyday supplies get scarce quick. Like most teachers, she is often left paying out of pocket.

"We all care so much so that's really the only thing left to do," she said. "We're going to get what they need no matter what."

Enter "Queer Eye" star Jonathan Van Ness.

The renowned "grooming expert," podcast host and the former University of Arizona Wildcat chose Biesemeier as one of his #10featuredteachers on Instagram, encouraging his more than two million followers to fulfill her classroom wish list.

Within hours, they answered.

"It's just incredible," Biesemeier said.

Paint, paper, pencil sharpeners, gift cards, even the boxes the supplies were shipped in will all be put to good use. Now, they are in the hands of her students along with a life lesson in gratitude and compassion.

"Kids don't always have someone that they can always rely on and I have always wanted to be that for them," Biesemeier said.
