A teenage girl is in extremely critical condition after being struck by a car in west Phoenix.

Police were called to the area of 72nd Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road around 5 p.m. after receiving reports of a car accident involving a pedestrian.

According to a police spokesperson, the 16-year-old girl was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition.
