PHOENIX — Police are looking for two men who allegedly provoked, and shot a dog at a park in West Phoenix.

According to Phoenix police, on January 13 a large group of people was gathered at West Plaza Park near 43rd and Glendale avenues around noon.

A loose dog was reportedly seen in the park playing with children while several adult men were also seen playing football. Police say two men began to provoke the dog aggressively, with one of the men grabbing the dog by the collar. The second man retrieved a gun and shot the dog in the head, according to investigators.

The dog did not survive its injuries, police say.

Police said the only description available of the suspects is that they are reported to both be black males.

If anyone has any information, they are asked to contact Phoenix police or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
