A man was shot and killed during an argument in Phoenix on Monday night.

Officers responded to the area of 99th Avenue and Broadway Road just before 6 p.m. where a man was found on the sidewalk with gunshot injuries.

The victim, identified as a 45-year-old Steven Arvallo, died at the hospital.

Investigators say the victim and suspect, 36-year-old Sladjan Petkovic, were in an ongoing dispute and were arguing before the shooting occurred.

Police say the suspect shot several times into the victim's home before trying to break in the door. A woman and boy were also in the home, but were not injured.

Before the suspect fled the area in a grey Jeep Cherokee, police say he fired several more shots at the victim.

Police confirmed to ABC15 that Petkovic was later involved in a trooper-involved shooting west of Tonopah early Tuesday morning. He was injured, but reportedly taken into custody.
