Police investigating after body found in SUV in west Phoenix

Police are investigating after a body was found in an SUV in west Phoenix on Friday night, and three people have been taken into custody related to the investigation. 

Officers responded to the area of 59th Avenue and McDowell Road just before 11:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired. 

As officers arrived, they found an adult man, identified as 38-year-old Roberto Perez, inside in a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Perez was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police say they received a description of a suspect vehicle and located the car near Buckeye Road and Central Avenue where the suspects tried to flee on foot. 

Officers were able to take the three suspects into custody and recovered drugs and a gun that they tried to discard while running. Crystal Allison, 33; Anthony Thomas, 26; and Luis Urias, 35 were all arrested and booked for drug, armed robbery and murder charges.
