Phoenix Police investigating reported home invasion early Monday morning

Phoenix police are investigating a home invasion that occurred early Monday morning in the West Valley.

According to information at the scene near 83rd Avenue and McDowell Road, police responded to calls of shots fired after a man reportedly awoke to several men inside his home around 3 a.m.

The homeowner reportedly exchanged gunfire with the suspects who were stealing his belongings but no injuries were reported.

The homeowner's 9-year-old daughter was also in the home at the time, but both were safely rescued by officers.

Police conducted a search for suspects by air and ground, but no suspects were located.
