A deceased body was found inside a van in west Phoenix on Friday afternoon.
Police responded to an abandoned Dodge Caravan around 3 p.m., which had been in the area of 59th Avenue and Roosevelt Street for about a month.
Once police arrived, they discovered the front doors of the vehicle were unlocked, and a foul smell was coming from the van.
Once inside the van, police found the body of what they believe to be a man who was covered in a white sheet.

Police tell ABC15 the vehicle is not stolen, and they are trying to make contact with the owner of the car.
It is not known how long the body was inside the van or who the person is. As of now, there is no cause of death.
Police within the homicide unit are investigating the incident as an unknown death investigation.
