A Phoenix man is facing charges after being accused of sexually assaulting a teenage family member.
According to a police report, 20-year-old Daniel Franklyn Holloway was arrested on Monday for allegedly having sex with the 16-year-old last year.
Holloway allegedly admitted to having sexual relations with the victim at least three times at an apartment near Thunderbird Road and 19th Avenue. He told officers that the incidents happened between May 2015 and September 2015.
Officers recorded a phone conversation between Holloway and the victim. During the conversation, Holloway allegedly apologized to the teenager for raping her, the report said.
However, during an interview with officers on Monday, Holloway said that their relationship was consensual. He also told police that he only apologized to the girl on the phone because he didn’t want to argue with her.
Holloway told officers that the pair allegedly had sex at his friends’ apartment where he lived at the time. According to the police report, the suspect was kicked out of his home after another family member accused him of molesting her.
Holloway has been charged with sexual assault.
