Phoenix police have determined a threat that forced the evacuation of two Valley Metro buses is a hoax.

The Phoenix Police Department said around 4:45 p.m., someone called into the Valley Metro customer service line and warned officials to have people evacuate a bus that was at 67th Avenue and Van Buren Street.

Police stopped two buses near that location to investigate and closed off nearby streets.

67th Avenue was expected to reopen sometime after 6:13 p.m., according to Sgt. Trent Crump.
