PD: One dead after head-on crash near 43rd Avenue and Thomas in Phoenix

PHOENIX - A 22-year-old man is dead after a head-on crash in west Phoenix on Tuesday night. 

According to police, officers responded to the area of 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road around 10:40 p.m. after a Saturn passenger car crossed the center line, colliding with a Lexus. 

The driver of the Saturn, a 22-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

A 72-year-old man driving the Lexus reportedly showed signs of impairment and was processed for driving under the influence. Police did not say if he was injured during the crash. 

The investigation is ongoing.
