Officials are investigating a deadly shooting at a west Valley apartment complex.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. on Friday in the area of 24th Avenue and Thomas Road.
Phoenix police say a man was shot in the courtyard area of the apartment complex and left with extremely serious injuries. He later died.
A second victim, a 25-year-old woman, was also found with injuries at the scene. She had reportedly been assaulted with the handgun by a suspect and had her property stolen. Police say she is expected to survive her injuries.
Residents told police they heard numerous shots fired during the incident and police are still investigating.
The suspects are said to have left the area in a dark-colored vehicle.
