The search has ended for a possible kidnapping suspect in west Phoenix following a short pursuit Friday afternoon.
Dept. of Public Safety spokesman Quentin Mehr said the suspect bailed from a vehicle near 67th Avenue and Van Buren.
Undercover troopers were reportedly doing surveillance on the suspect's truck when the driver took off, prompting a short pursuit involving DPS and Phoenix police.
Police say last weekend the suspect drove up from southern Arizona to Glendale to meet a woman he met on Facebook. After staying overnight at an apartment with her, three men with guns tied him up and took his truck, wallet and phone.
Authorities say that truck was located in south Phoenix Friday afternoon. They set up a perimeter to look for the driver, but could not find him. They found a female passenger, but say she wasn't involved.
No one was arrested and police have cleared the scene.
