PHOENIX — A 4-year-old boy is in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle near 63rd Avenue and Osborn Road Saturday night.
Phoenix police say at around 8 p.m. officers responded to the scene of a collision involving a pedestrian.
Officers say a vehicle hit a 4-year-old boy while traveling north on 63rd Avenue when the child ran into the road while running between parked cars.
The driver attempted to avoid hitting the child, but was unsuccessful.
The child was then transported to the hospital with very serious injuries, officials say.
Phoenix police say the driver remained on scene following the collision and is cooperating with officers.
Impairment and speed do not appear to be contributing factors to the collision.
