A woman is okay after she crashed into a west Phoenix canal on Wednesday morning.
The incident happened in a canal south of 39th Avenue and Indian School Road.
Phoenix fire said the driver fell asleep while driving and was able to get out safely. The driver said a passenger was with her at the time of the crash but she does not know what happened to her.
Rescue crews were able to get a ladder truck close enough to the car to determine no one was inside.
