Firefighters fighting blaze at west Phoenix pallet yard

PHOENIX -  Firefighters say a 2nd-alarm fire sparked at a pallet yard in west Phoenix late Friday night destroying several tractor-trailer trucks.

The Phoenix Fire Department says the fire ignited at a pallet yard that contained 160,000 pallets near 67th Avenue and Buckeye Road around 11:30 p.m.

Crews were actively working to extinguish the flames as of midnight and ensure the fire did not spread to any nearby structures.

According to a fire spokesperson, the fire did not spread to nearby buildings and no injuries were reported.

ABC15 viewers said the smoke and flames could be seen for miles across the west Valley.

No injuries were reported and further details were not immediately available.

It's too early to determine what initially sparked the flames.
