PHOENIX — Police say two women are dead and an infant is among four people injured in a multiple-car accident in west Phoenix.

Three vehicles collided around 8 p.m. Sunday. Phoenix police say a car driven by 18-year-old Bianca Aquirre allegedly crossed over the median, crashed into another vehicle and collided with a third car.

Police say Aquirre died at a hospital while 34-year-old Cherish Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene.

They say Lewis was in the first car that Aquirre crashed into. Police say a 32-year-old man and 11-month-old baby boy who were in the same vehicle as Lewis suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

A 17-year-old girl in Aquirre's car and a 61-year-old woman in the third vehicle also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic was blocked from Lower Buckeye Road to Broadway Road on 67th Avenue while crews worked to clear the scene.

Police still are investigating the fatal crash.
