PHOENIX — A man has died after the truck he was driving plowed into a popular Valley restaurant Wednesday night.
Rescue crews were called to the scene around 9:30 p.m. to check out reports of smoke coming from First Watch near Interstate 17 and Dunlap Avenue.
When firefighters arrived, they saw there was no fire, but a truck had crashed into the building.
Authorities say the driver, a man around 40 years old, was left in serious condition, but later died. Officials believe he had a medical episode before the crash, but the investigation is ongoing.
Officials say no one else was hurt in the incident.
