PHOENIX — Phoenix police are investigating a deadly crash near 55th Avenue and Indian School Road.
Around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, police say a brown Chevy S10 was headed southbound on 55th Avenue when it collided with a tan-colored Jeep Cherokee that was driving eastbound.
The driver of the Chevy, 38-year-old Carlos Uriarte, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The driver and occupants of the Jeep suffered only minor injuries.
Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash, however, police believe Uriarte failed to stop for a red traffic light.
