PHOENIX — Phoenix police are investigating after a person was shot by officers near 7th Street and Baseline Road Thursday night.

Police say they received a shots fired call and loud music from a residence on Carter Circle around 9:30 p.m.

The caller reported that a man, later identified as a 29-year-old, had fired a weapon and provided a description.

When officers arrived they located the man fitting the description in a fenced yard and spotted a handgun tucked into his waistband, according to Phoenix police.
