It's going to be a very merry Christmas for a Phoenix family after all, thanks to the Phoenix police officers and firefighters.

According to a fire spokesperson, the blaze was quickly extinguished, however, several items inside were were destroyed — including Christmas presents and other belongings.

A fire spokesperson explained that the woman typically babysits her seven grandchildren (6 months to 8 years old) while their parents are working. A lot of their items were destroyed in the blaze.

Firefighters and police officers purchased new items for the family, including gift cards, diapers, baby formula, car seats, strollers and clothing. They also bought a new Christmas tree.

The group will meet at the house on Friday to give the family all their presents.

A dog and pet birds were killed during the fire, but no other injuries were reported.
