Detectives are investigating after a woman was hit and killed by a vehicle in Phoenix.
Phoenix police said at 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a 58-year-old woman was crossing the street at 16th Street and Roeser Road when she was hit by a vehicle.
Witnesses told police the woman was standing in the center of the roadway when she suddenly stepped into traffic.
Speed or impairment does not appear to be a factor at this time.
The name of the pedestrian has not been released.
