A man is accused of damaging electrical panels in a no trespassing area at South Mountain Park.
Phoenix police were called to the mountain summit on Feb. 15 after receiving reports about possible criminal damage.
While searching the area, officers found 41-year-old Micheal Preston inside the fenced area, despite there being "no trespassing" signs, police said.
Police discovered that multiple power junction boxes and other equipment was manually shot off and/or damaged, in turn, creating power outages or service interruptions for multiple radio and TV stations.
Preston was arrested and booked on commercial burglary, criminal damage and trespassing charges.
No word as to why he was damaging the equipment, but no further information was released.
