Driver dead after head-on crash in Phoenix

Phoenix Police say the driver of a truck who failed to stop at a stop sign late Friday night died after crashing into another car.

The crash occurred before midnight at the intersection of 72nd Avenue and Buckeye Road.

According to information on scene, the northbound truck crashed head-on into a smaller vehicle driving eastbound.

Officials say the truck failed to yield to the other car, causing the crash. That driver, a 30-year-old man, was killed. His passenger, a 31-year-old woman is OK.

The driver of the car that was hit, a 23-year-old man, has serious injuries.

At this time, police say alcohol was likely a factor in the crash.
