PHOENIX — As Valentine's Day quickly approaches, APS urges people to practice Mylar balloon safety in order to prevent power outages.
In 2021, APS reported 116 balloon-related power outages, impacting more than 76,321 customers.
To stay safe, APS recommends only keeping balloons indoors and tethered, and fully deflating balloons before throwing them away.
