PHOENIX — A man was fatally struck after running across Indian School Road near Central Avenue late Wednesday night.
Phoenix police say a 40-year-old man "ran southbound across Indian School Road" when he was struck by a passenger car.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The driver, only identified as a 66-year-old woman, stayed at the scene.
Police have determined impairment was not a factor in the deadly crash.
The driver is not expected to be charged, police say.
