PHOENIX — A nude man who was taken to the hospital after assaulting an officer and being tased on Monday afternoon has died, according to Phoenix police.
According to Phoenix police, officers responded to a call of indecent exposure in the area of 35th Avenue and Deer Valley Road around 2 p.m. on February 4.
Once on scene, officers located a man acting erratically in the street, wearing no clothing.
Police say the suspect started a physical altercation with the officers and assaulted one of them.
An officer deployed his taser, and the suspect was taken into custody.
Shortly after, the suspect was taken to an area hospital in extremely critical condition.
Police have identified the man as 40-year-old Casey Wells.
According to Phoenix police, a medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
