The Phoenix Fire Department says a 2-year-old and 5-year-old child have been taken to the hospital after their mother’s vehicle backed over them.
The incident happened in a neighborhood near Interstate 17 and Carefree Highway around 3:20 p.m.
Firefighters say the mother was unloading something in the car when the car somehow got hit into reverse and backed up, hitting the children.
Both children are awake and talking, and have been taken to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
