Police: Woman dies after being struck by a truck in north Phoenix

Police are investigating a crash which left one woman dead in north Phoenix.

Officers were called to the area of Tatum and Shea boulevards Friday morning after receiving reports of the accident.

According to officials, 66-year-old Denise-Marye Sileci-Caruso, was involved in a non-injury accident with another vehicle but ran from the scene. Witnesses told police Caruso was acting erratic and running in and out of traffic.

As she ran down Shea Boulevard, police say she was struck by a silver-colored Ford F150 that was leaving a driveway. The driver fled the scene and was last seen westbound on Shea Boulevard.  

Officials say Caruso died from her injuries.

Roads in the area were closed but have since reopened.
