Phoenix police are investigating whether impairment played a role in an SUV ending up in a family's living room on Thursday morning.

"I came home to chaos," said Bryan, who lives in the west Phoenix home with his wife.

So would-be thieves do not try to take a look inside the couple's home through the vehicle-sized hole, only their first names and a general location of the home are being published.

"If I had left for work a half an hour later, I would have been dead," said Danika, who often sits right in front of the spot through with the SUV crashed. The crash jolted the neighborhood at about 9:30 a.m.

Neighbors said that police arrested the driver. No people were hurt, but the couple's dog was injured after being temporarily stuck underneath the SUV.

Danika said the driver lives down the street.
