Police say a motorcycle rider has died following a crash in north Phoenix on Monday afternoon.
According to Phoenix police, around 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of 43rd Avenue and Larkspur Drive for a report of a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle.
Police say the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on 43rd Avenue when it collided into a vehicle making a left turn onto Larkspur Drive from 43rd Avenue.
The motorcyclist, a man, was pronounced dead at the scene. He has not been identified at this time.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained on scene, police said.
According to police, speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
Police say 43rd Avenue is closed between Cactus Road and Sweetwater Avenue as officers investigate.
