A man is behind bars after allegedly pointing a gun at multiple people before leading Phoenix police on a brief pursuit while he was allegedly impaired.

Authorities were called to the area of 35th and Dunlap avenues around 6 p.m. after the suspect was seen pointing a handgun at people at a nearby apartment complex.

When officers arrived to the scene, they got a description of the suspect from witnesses and located him a short time later, police said. When officials attempted to pull the man over he sped off initiating a pursuit.
