The Phoenix Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was killed in a traffic collision Friday morning.

The crash was reported just before 7:15 a.m. in the area of 25th Avenue and Greenway Road.

Officials say the pedestrian was an 88-year-old woman who was crossing Greenway and was not in a crosswalk.

The driver who collided with the woman told police she did not see the woman. Officers evaluated the driver and determined that she was not impaired.

Police say the Arizona Department of Transportation shut down both off ramps to Greenway Road from Interstate 17 while the crash was investigated.

Saturday afternoon, police identified the victim as Hazel Bahe. Authorities said speed was not a factor in the collision and the driver would not face criminal charges.
