Police are investigating after one person died in a crash Monday afternoon.

Authorities say a man was driving south on 35th Avenue and tried to turn left onto eastbound Bell Road. During the turn, he was hit by a vehicle heading north on 35th Avenue.

The driver of the vehicle that was turning died on the scene, police said.

The other driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The intersection remained closed in all directions and would remain that way through the evening commute, according to a police spokesman.
