A registered sex offender is in custody again after sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl while she slept, according to court records.
Officials said 26-year-old Nicholas James Pakonen met a 17-year-old girl who agreed to come over to his home near 35th Avenue and Dunlap.
Police say the victim was given a drink and she quickly felt lethargic and fell asleep.
The victim said that she later woke up to pain in her legs and her pants unbuttoned. She contacted police and gave a description of the location where she was assaulted and tattoos on the suspect. She was shown a photo lineup where she picked out Pakonen.
Pakonen was arrested and later admitted to the assault. He has been charged with sexual assault and is being held without bond.
