Phoenix police: Man arrested for deadly stabbing on Friday

Police have made an arrest in connection with a deadly stabbing in Phoenix Friday night.

Officers responded to the area of 19th and Peoria avenues around 8:30 p.m.. Witnesses told police the suspect cut the victim with a knife after an argument.

The victim, later identified as 36-year-old Robert Prewitt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Around 10:30 a.m. Saturday, police received information about the suspect. A man fitting the description given was detained near 12th Avenue and Hatcher.

The man, 38-year-old Olin Coho, was arrested for one count of second-degree murder in Prewitt's death.

According to online jail records, Coho's bond was set at $500,000.

No other information was immediately available.
