Phoenix firefighters are investigating after a suspicious odor and smell were reportedly coming from a building in north Phoenix.

The fire department received reports around 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon in the area of Pinnacle Peak Road and 11th Avenue about an unusual smell and sound in the area.

The person who made the 911 call said the building is occupied by a medical company that stores human tissue.

However, an hour later, a Phoenix fire spokesperson said the situation is no longer being assessed as an emergency.

The individuals responsible for the building told Phoenix Fire that the odd smell is part of their cleaning process.
