PHOENIX — The Phoenix Fire Department is working to learn what sparked at commercial structure fire near 15th Avenue and Hatcher Road.
Firefighters were called to a mechanic shop in the area around 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the structure.
Officials say they made a fast and aggressive interior attack with multiple hand lines.
The flames were stopped from spreading to nearby buildings, and no one was inside the mechanic shop at the time of the fire.
Phoenix Fire says a bystander suffered minor burns, but declined to go to a hospital.
No firefighters were hurt.
The cause remains under investigation.
