Police are investigating after a patrol vehicle hit and killed a pedestrian in North Phoenix on Tuesday morning.
A marked police vehicle reportedly hit someone walking in the road near 7th Street and Deer Valley Road. Emergency crews took the pedestrian to the hospital in extremely critical condition.
The victim died at the hospital. Police believe the person meant to harm themselves, but the incident is still under investigation.
The victim's identity has not yet been confirmed.
Drivers should avoid the area while officials conduct the investigation.
