Police are investigating a deadly pedestrian-involved, hit-and-run crash in north Phoenix.
Officials responded to the area of 40th Street and Thunderbird Road around 2:20 a.m. Tuesday for the crash.
A man standing in the roadway was reportedly struck by a vehicle near a bus stop along a dark portion of the road.
Police say the driver of the vehicle did not stop and has not yet been located. No description of the car involved has been released.
Police have identified the pedestrian as 31-year-old Miguel A Chavez, according to the Associated Press.
Both directions of 40th Street were closed from Thunderbird to Acoma for several hours.
