Police investigating a possible overnight DUI vehicle crash had another possibly impaired driver blow through the scene in north Phoenix.
The incident happened around 1 a.m. on Friday in the area of Cave Creek Road and Cheryl Drive in Phoenix.
Officers say a driver lost control, slammed into a tree and then hit a wall. The 22-year-old male driver was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.
During the crash investigation, another motorist drove through the investigation scene and was pulled over. Police took the driver into custody for possible impairment. There were no injuries to officers working the collision scene.
Cave Creek Road was closed between Peoria Avenue and Cheryl Drive for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
