A man is in custody after crashing into an apartment complex in Phoenix.
Phoenix police said the incident happened at an apartment complex near 19th Avenue and Dunlap on Thursday morning.
According to police, the driver of a rental car lost control and drove through a fence. The suspect tried to back the vehicle up, but when his vehicle was stuck, he drove through the fence and almost into some apartment units.
The driver ran from the scene and acted like he was in his apartment the whole time.
A woman in the passenger seat was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
According to police, the man and woman left their two kids home alone while they went out drinking.
The driver was taken into custody for DUI, child endangerment and hit and run. There is no word at this time if the mother will be charged with any crimes. She is still in the hospital.
