A mobile home belonging to a man and his elderly mother was destroyed in a late-night fire in north Phoenix.

The fire happened shortly after 10 p.m. on Sunday in the area of 7th Street and Union Hills Drive.

Phoenix Fire Captain Rob McDade says when fire crews arrived, the mobile home was engulfed in flames. Fire crews were able to gain control of the fire and keep it from spreading to surrounding homes.

The residents made it out of their home as firefighters were arriving. The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of mild smoke inhalation injuries.

There were no other reported injuries.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
