A man died after attempting to cross the street Tuesday night near 27th and Glendale avenues, according to officials.
The pedestrian was walking mid-block when a vehicle struck him, police said. The driver stayed on scene and the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area while police investigate the crash. The victim's name was not released.
